Harvest day 2024
On September 28 this year, we celebrated Miķeļdiena at the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum. There was a Miķeļdiena market, autumn harvest soup, and various activities for both adults and children in the Latgale village, Vidzeme farmer's homestead, and Kurzeme farmer's homestead, as well as a concert at the Borne Church.
Contemporary Arts Fair 2024
The Contemporary Craft Market is also becoming a stable tradition at the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum, offering the opportunity to witness the talent and remarkable creativity of artisans, who, based on traditional craftsmanship knowledge and skills, find and create modern solutions. Latvian artisans working with various techniques and materials are invited to participate, combining craftsmanship, technological advancements, and contemporary design elements in their creations. The handcrafted items must be high-quality and made by the artisans themselves. They should unite beauty with functionality, demonstrating both artistic independence and craftsmanship. The items represented at the market should reflect the contemporary demand for unique products while shaping visitors' individual taste and offering alternatives to mass-produced uniformity.
