May singing at the cross is a new tradition in the Open-Air Museum but a long tradition in Latgale and Augšzeme. According to Catholic traditions of Latgale, cross is the place of reflection where one can stop to lift the head up, remove the cap and honour God. People called divine service in May as "dzīduošana pi krusta" (singing at the cross) and held it on their own initiative. The Holy Mass will be held in the chapel of Eleonorvilla manor, and Marija’s songs will be sung at the crucifix of Guti village.
