Specifics of restoration work

Before the harbor warehouse was transported to be in the exhibition of the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia it served as Liepaja’s (maritime town in Latvia) warehouse. There were stored different things like – grains, a variety of goods and also bags of salt. The result of the last one – salt – led to pollutions in wall constructions which made corrosion on all iron forgings and building tensions. In order to prevent damage, museum masters are working on wall desalination by cleaning them and putting on special compresses.

Biggest thanks for advice to dr.sc.ing. Inta Vītiņa!
