EEA founds project experience exchange visit to the Open Air Museum in Lithuania

Director of the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia Una Sedleniece and deputy director Mārtiņš Kuplais visited the Rumkiskes Open Air Museum in Lithuania on 16th of June at its 40th anniversary event. Museum visitors had a great opportunity to get acquainted to latest project achievements by the lead architect of the museum. For more detailed information please click here.

The purposes of the Project are the restoration and reconstruction of the Aristavele Manor House at the Open-Air Museum, the creation of an education-platform for wooden crafts, and to open the manor house to the public with the overall objective of improved competence and capacity in wooden crafts contributing to preservation and development of Lithuania's wooden heritage. A reference is made to the application dated 3 August 2007 to any subsequent correspondence with the Focal Point and this project ended in 2011, however it is not yet possible to see it fully exhibited.
