Green Heritage: Environmental Education through Museums and Interdisciplinary Learning
Erasmus+ Programme in the Adult Education Sector KA210-ADU – Small-scale Partnerships in Adult Education project “Green Heritage: Environmental Education through Museums and Interdisciplinary Learning” (H.E.R.I.T.A.G.E.)
The aim of the project is to strengthen the competences of museum and adult education professionals in climate education, sustainable development and digital learning by using museums as spaces for lifelong learning and public engagement.
The project will develop new educational materials for museum professionals, create digital learning tools, and strengthen cooperation among museums, non-governmental organisations, educational institutions and the wider public.
The project is coordinated by the Athens Development Organisation Develop Athens S.A. / ANAPTYXIAKI ATHINAS ANONYMI ETAIREIA – ANAPTYXIAKOS ORGANISMOS TOPIKIS AYTODIOIKISIS (Greece).
The project partners are:
• National Centre for Research and Preservation of School Material / School Life and Education Museum – Ethniko Kentro Erevnas kai Diasosis Sholikou Ylikou (Greece)
• Association for Innovative Education and Initiatives – Yenilikçi Eğitim ve Girişim Derneği (YEGID) (Türkiye)
• M.Y.CULTURE (Italy)
• International Cultural Association in Gothenburg – Internationella KulturFöreningen Göteborg (Sweden)
• The Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia (Latvia)
The total project budget amounts to EUR 60,000, of which EUR 10,381 is allocated to the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia for the implementation of project activities.
Expected project results
- improved knowledge and skills of project participants in non-formal environmental education and digital learning;
• exploration of innovative learning methods and the development of creative educational tools and materials;
• wide dissemination of project results and their further use as open educational resources;
• strengthened cooperation among museums, non-governmental organisations and educational institutions;
• enhanced cultural understanding and intercultural cooperation;
• support and involvement of policymakers and other relevant stakeholders.
