“A Day at Our Homestead”

For the third year in a row, the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum welcomed the summer season with “A Day at Our Homestead”, a tradition that has quickly become a highlight of the museum’s annual programme. On 1 May, more than twenty museum sites were animated by singers, musicians, and craftspeople demonstrating activities typical of their respective regions and seasons. The Market Square featured a vibrant fair of traditional crafts and locally produced foods. Offering a unique journey 100–200 years into the past, the event invited visitors to experience the rhythms of rural life in earlier centuries. The programme was created in cooperation with the Latvian National Centre for Culture.
