"Jāņi (Midsummer celebration) in the Regions of Latvia". The International Folklore Festival “Baltica 2018”17.06.201811:00 — 18:00

"Meadows in bloom, crop in bloom, potatoes, peas and beans in bloom – Jāņi or summer solstice is here –  the time of blooming as every year Jānis brings a cartful of flowers, so that the whole world can blossom.” This year The Festival “Baltica” invites you to think about Jāņi traditions – decorating with flowers, wreath weaving, singing, Jāņi plants, Jāņi fire, Jāņi cheese and beer, etc. in each district, parish, village, farmstead, family and international context, as well as about traditional flower gardens, traditions of giving flowers, songs and events belonging to summer and blooming.
